Sr Mgr – Project Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Mgr. Project Engineering manages all aspects of projects to ensure safety and security while protecting the asset for investors and owners. This role manages and coordinates all activities of the engineering department for controls, cost, software, and electrical engineering.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate.  
• Allocate engineering resources to successfully accomplish company objectives and priorities and identify needs for successful completion of projects. 
• Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, and policy enforcement. 
• Day-to-day interaction and management of engineering team and manage of recruiting, hiring, training.  
• Establish and approve documentation and processes.  
• Manage engineering team effectively to project timelines and budgets and ensure product/project best industry practices. 
• Provide insight on strategic technical focus to the executive team. 
• Establish documentation and processes to improve the efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow. 
• Ownership of the technical content generated by the engineering department and critical input to effectively solve engineering problems. 
• Approve design documentation including project design basis, specifications, drawings, and calculations. 
• Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate. 
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.  Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
• Additional duties as assigned. 
   

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred 
• 6+ years progressive engineering experience required 
• 3+ years in a direct leadership role 
• Periodic travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required. 
• A high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications 
• Excellent analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, & planning skills with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning) 
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts 
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally 
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard; and talk, hear and see.  
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
