Test Software Engineer
Job Description
This role is amission-criticalpart of a dynamic and growing group of engineers responsible for developing cost-efficient and high-quality functional test solutions for use in electronics manufacturing. The test solutions will be fora variety of computer controlled electro-mechanical systems and used to identify and capture manufacturing defects. The Test Software Engineer will require a disciplined approach to design, development and implementation of electro-mechanical test solutions including software to drive the test solution and capture the required test results. Additionally, the TestSoftwareEngineer will require strong communication skills to provide clear communication with team members, external customers and internal customers.
Duties/Responsibilities
1. Work closely with internal and external stake holders to develop functional test specifications outlining test systems and fixtures that satisfy the customer’s requirements, defect detection objectives and cost constraints.
2. Assists project management in the development of proposals to ensure accurate technical, staffing, budgetary, and schedule content.
3. Assists team members in architecting test solutions that are cost and quality efficient for both hardware and software.
4. Implement assigned tasks and duties efficiently, and clearly communicate status, risks and assumptions throughout the project.
5. Efficiently develop National Instruments LabVIEWsoftware.
6. Provide constructive and timely feedback to other members of the team based on knowledge and experience.
7. Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to perform assigned project tasks (documentation, implementation, debug, analysis, verification, validation, etc.).
8. Support test system installation through system setup and verification, operator training, and ramp to production.
9. Work closely with the manufacturing test group on continuous improvement through evaluating current processes and procedures, providing recommendations for improvement.

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. Minimum five years previous experience in a test development environment using LabVIEWor other related software language.
3. Knowledge of Experience with ISO 9001 quality management and similar quality standards
4. Understands the end-to-end test development cycle from specification to development/documentation to manufacturing installation.
5. Strong analytical and system debugging capabilities required
6. Must be able to work independently with minimal direction
7. Strong communication skills using multiple methods of communication.
8. Experience developing with VHDL and/or other programming languages a plus.
