Solution Analyst

Position Description This position is responsible for analyzing and documenting functional and non-functional business requirements, workflow process, technical and non-technical specifications, application features, user stories, test plans, test scripts and use cases. The IT Product OwnerAnalyst SrLd will schedule and conduct analysis sessions, requirement workshops, backlog refinement, product demonstrations and training with all levels of stakeholders. The IT Product OwnerAnalyst SrLd will be the functional expert on assigned application(s) andor business areas, and will serve as a Product Owner for one or more Agile work streams. The IT Product OwnerAnalyst SrLd will function as a project or team lead as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS (This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned. List in order of importance.) Serves as project lead with emphasis on project requirements gathering, specification, testing, quality assurance, and user training. Works with business technology stakeholders to identify application requirements and features ensuring that deliverables meet business objectives. Maintains documentation, processes, guidelines, and procedures that align with MCTO project management methodologies and SDLC. Works as an Agile Product Owner for one or more work teams. Conducts regular planning, refining, testing, demonstration and training sessions with stakeholders and project teams. Documents complex process models using one or more of natural language constructs, use cases, flowcharts, user stories, technical specifications, user interface mockups, prototypes, or database definitions. Includes conditions of test acceptance. Facilitates and actively participates in ideation and process engineering with stakeholders, customers and vendors. Skills Required Ability to identify and avoid extraneous activities that do not solve the problem or help reach the objective. Ability to concurrently manage multiple priorities and transition quickly between projectsissues. Knowledge of or familiarity with project management and agile software development life cycle methodologies. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team by delivering to deadlines and communicating effectively. Ability to self-prioritize work and work with minimal to moderate supervision in the performance of daily activities. Ability to work and communicate clearly and effectively with both team members and customers. Ability to develop business cases, and facilitate prioritization of change requests and enhancements. Ability to conduct analysis of alternatives, recommendations and issue resolutions. Ability to define quality metrics for applications. Ability to develop and deliver presentations to small groups. Ability to plan, organize and conduct User Acceptance Testing. Skill in Intermediate level process analysis and optimization. Ability to plan and conduct requirements gathering workshops. Ability to prepare test cases for evaluation of completeness and fitness for use of developed solutions. Ability to produce clear written documentation of system functionality, test scripts, test results and training material. Skill in customer service and methods of professional interaction with a staff of disparate personalities and the ability to display a courteous and professional demeanor at all times. Skill in verbal and written communication, including presentation skills and experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences. Skills Preferred Experience Required (5) years product owneranalysis experience, which includes (4) years of IT industry experience, preferably working as a liaison between the business community and an IT organization. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education andor industry related experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis. Experience Preferred Six (6) or more years product owner experience, Four (4) or more years business analyst experience. Education Required A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field Education Preferred Certified Agile Product Owner, Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)., proficiency with Visio and MS Project.
