RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Warren, MI that is seeking a Service Engineer. The Service Engineer will represent Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) Engineering to implement strategies that improve the serviceability of vehicles, including ease of vehicle maintenance, vehicle repair, and the avoidance of associated warranty costs. Responsibilities:
- Service Engineer will support Design Release Engineers responsible for specific commodities and subsystems
- Participate in Product Development Teams, DFMEAs, and Peer Reviews
- Develop, communicate, and advocate service technical requirements
- Service Engineer will develop and document service part release strategies with Service Parts Engineers, Design Release Engineers, and Supplier Engineers
- Review engineering work orders to monitor and manage design change impacts to service parts, service information, and other service deliverables
- Review and contribute to technical service bulletins
- Develop and validate service tools
- Service Engineer will provide support for other CCA teams including: Warehousing, Brand Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Service Information Development and Validation, Technical Assistance, Service Training, Field Support, and Marketing
- Support validation of service procedures on engineering vehicles
- Support Dealership Technicians and Customers to resolve challenging service part and service repair procedure issues
- WService Engineer will work with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction methods and product improvements, and to support vehicle build programs

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle chassis systems: steering, suspension, brakes, driveline, induction, exhaust and fuel
- Experience with engineering related computer software for manipulating 3D math objects and reviewing engineering changes/data
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle chassis systems: steering, suspension, brakes driveline, induction, exhaust and fuel
- High level of oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of engineering theory/principles and operation of mechanical mechanisms
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
- High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
- Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related areas
- Experience with engineering related computer software for manipulating 3D math objects and reviewing engineering changes/data
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Demonstrated ability to develop mechanical service and diagnostic procedures
- Working knowledge of automotive service practices and procedures
