JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide mentorship for accountants and tax associates Contribute to team cohesion by creating a positive morale and enhancing the firm culture, engaging with leadership/executive team to improve firm procedures and processes JOB DUTIES: Prepares and ensures the accuracy of individual and business tax filings Prepares scopes for large projects, delegates and manages workflow through span of project Provides business advisory strategy to client base, researching, analyzing and developing best practices for complex entities Informs, guides, and advises clients on tax and financial planning, communicating ethical strategies to mitigate tax liabilities.
Develops tax plans and projections for fractional CFO level business clients Reviews financial statements and posts adjusting journal entries for tax purposes Conducts new and established client meetings Identifies current and future client requirements by establishing and maintaining rapport with potential and actual clients Reviews, prepares as needed and ensures the accuracy of individual and business tax filings Assists and prepares clients for IRS or state audits, develop response to notices as needed Research tax issues using internal revenue code, relevant authorities and guidance Displays analytical skills by ensuring consistency of year-over-year tax information for new and established clients Records and reports client information in an accurate and timely manner Maintains the stability and reputation of the firm by complying with ethical and legal requirements PROFICIENCIES: 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065 Tax Compliance Tax software, knowledge of UltraTax preferred Excel and data analysis GAAP accounting standards REQUIREMENTS: CPA with Master of Accountancy 6 years professional work experience 3 years tax preparation experience in regional, public accounting field Strong tax and finance advisory proficiency Professional oral and written communication skills Able to work well in a team setting Motivated and takes initiative Strong ethical compass Accountable and dependable COMPENSATION: Competitive salary Full benefits package 401K matching Continuing education opportunities Career growth opportunities Flexible hours
