Risk Management is responsible for protecting AbbVie and its shareholders from unforeseen loss.
Risk Management coordinates global insurance coverages, sets the strategy and guidelines for risk management efforts and insurance procurement at the subsidiary level as well as partners with business functions to identify, assess and manage risks.
This role is responsible for aspects of insurance placement and risk management, managing processes necessary for the department to function, and assisting with special projects.
Key Responsibilities Include: Insurance and Risk Management Responsible for supporting insurance placements and risk management efforts for assigned risk areas Assist in crafting renewal strategies and ensuring insurance program structures are fit for purpose and in alignment with budget.
Consolidate exposure data from internal AbbVie sources, analyze and present findings to Director/brokers/insurance carriers.
Support program renewal and implementation process by ensuring key milestones and deliverables are met on a timely basis, completing renewal applications, preparing responses to underwriting questions, reviewing policies/endorsements, responding to certificate requests, ensuring timely and complete documentation of internal files, and other tasks as assigned Craft presentations/webinars to educate internal stakeholders on risk and insurance matters Support risk management efforts including risk identification, quantification, loss prevention and risk insight development Conduct contract reviews and provide risk and insurance guidance Management of Department Administrative processes Support vendor management efforts Ensure timely and accurate invoice payment and intercompany billings as necessary Adopt and manage RMIS tool for assigned insurance placements Maintain department documentation updated (policies, procedures, coverage narratives) Special projects Projects may include data analysis related to losses, risk exposure and/or business unit information.
Projects may also include supporting the development of cost/benefit analysis, business case development, process mapping and KPI development.
Basic: Bachelor degree required.
Business major preferred.
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred but not required Minimum 4 years of experience in insurance, risk management, brokerage and/or finance Intellectually curious and a fast learner Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and be detail oriented Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking abilities Agile and accountable Strong project management skills Focus on continuous improvement, ability to improve/redesign processes Ability to work independently and be a self-starter Ability to develop strong relationships with business units/functions and external parties (e.g.
brokers/insurers) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
