Senior Python Engineer

Horn Solutions has partnered with a local startup client to bring on a Senior Python Engineer for their growing team here in Austin. This would be a 100 remote opportunity. This person will be responsible for developing a high-scale application used currently by over one million customers in the higher education field. RESPONSIBILITIES — Design develop highly scalable APIs infrastructure Containerize CICD applications in a modern DevOps paradigm Contribute to architecture decisions communicate well with other engineers Build beautiful applications for client’s userscustomers Collaborate with other teams including product, UX, services, support customers as needed Utilize Python, Django, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and more on a daily basis Work in Google Cloud and AWS Work in a GNULinux environment Work in an agile-based environment using tools like GitHub and Slack MUST HAVE BACKGROUND – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of software engineering experience building commercial-scaled applications in the cloud 3+ years as a Python developer including coding in Python on a daily basis Personal drive motivation to make a difference in a growing company Takes initiative in learning new things, specifically new technologies Interest ability in mentoring more junior level developers or other team members Capable of working in a fast-paced environment LI-DH1 HSITDice
