Senior Electrical Design Engineer

**Customer Job Title:** Senior Electrical Design Engineer**Position Summary**Design of high performance and reliability electronics for high tech aerospace applications.

Oversee development activities related to product qualification, approval and launch.

Manage testing plans and activities as it relates to new product development or current product re-design efforts.

Recommend testing procedures and equipment related to finished product functionality and adherence to requirements once in the production environment.

Assist in development of design concepts for customer solicitations and requests.

• Design and/or development of new products based on customer specs and customer requirements
• Evaluate existing designs for incorporation into newly developed products
• Oversee product drawings, tests, and specifications for newly designed products
• Evaluate and analyze requirements for qualification procedures
• Create appropriate test flows, test designs, and analyses to incorporate design requirement verification
• Analyzing statement of work (SOW) for supporting solicitation process
• Create schematics and board layout
• Obtain, review, and maintain necessary specifications to define projects
• Perform functional and theoretical analyses on designed products
• Release designs
• Oversee and assist with ATP’s, QTP’s, customer deliverables, and SAR packages
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Maintain familiarity with a variety of latest concepts, practices and procedures
• Skilled user of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word) and Design software
• Other duties as assigned**Reporting Relationship:**Reports directly to the Engineering Manager.**Education and Training:**Degree in Engineering or has Fifteen plus years of relevant experience in related field**Technical Requirements:**
• Analog and digital circuits capture and layout
• High speed analog acquisition
• Microcontroller and FPGA interfaces and programming
• Firm understanding of DO-160 and mil standard 810 development and testing
• Understanding of EMI/EMC
