Raytheon Technologies Research Center (RTRC) is seeking a Senior Associate/Accounting Analyst to join its Finance team. The preferred candidate will have a strong accounting background, work well in a team environment, be a self-starter and have the ability to work on multiple tasks. This opportunity provides exposure to multiple areas of RTRC’s organization. This role offers a broad range of accounting experience, providing the selected candidate with exposure to a variety of financial and cost accounting topics.

The accounting position reports directly to the RTRC Accounting Manager.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Co-manage the RTRC invoicing process, with responsibilities of:

  • Project and customer set up and maintenance (SAP & database)
  • Invoice creation, support and validation
  • Accounts receivable management

Participate in the monthly financial close process, with responsibilities of:

  • Journal entry preparation, processing and review
  • Posting cash from bank account
  • Financial statement account analysis, including monthly account reconciliations.

Coordinate interaction between accounts payable, supply chain management and finance including:

  • Clearing of RTRC resolution queue for invoices that are unable to be processed
  • point of contact for check/wire failures

RTRC Citibank Card Administrator

Sarbanes Oxley documentation & testing

Additional duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support DCAA, RTC Internal Audit & PWC audits, including the development of corrective actions; and
  •  Actively participate in RTRC’s process improvement processes through identification, recommendation and implementation.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Understanding of US GAAP, cost accounting, US Government Accounting
  • Experience with SAP & Microsoft Office applications

Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting,  business or related field and 3 or more years’ experience
  • MBA/CMA/CPA is not required but desired
