The Senior Application Administrator is primarily responsible for installing, administering, testing and maintaining the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Ellucian’s Colleague.
Additional responsibilities include analysis, deployment, debugging and testing of ERP interfaces and integrations with external systems and applications, such as the Data Warehouse, the University’s Web Content Management System (CMS) and the Web Portal.
The incumbent will be involved in the gathering of functional and technical requirements, and the deployment and maintenance of ERP modules and other enterprise applications.
Coordinate with developers and systems engineers to establish proper software configuration and maintenance procedures.
Provide comprehensive technical consultations to business units and IT management and staff on all phases of the project development cycle, and business processes, policies, procedures, and methods.
Assist with development efforts for multiple high/medium/low priority projects simultaneously, with responsibility for requirements analysis, solution planning, design and development, managing project progress and reporting status proactively.
Also documents application installation and maintenance procedures including the applications CommonSpot, Informer, and Ellucian.
The Administrator plans out the entire process with users, developers and analysts to work on upgrading and testing of applications.
Contact vendors from Ellucian, CommonSpot, Informer, etc., when larger scale problems come up to fix these issues.
The administrator also works to fix any issues with the Portal.

This position will not include the luxury of having tunnel vision for any one area; rather, this individual will need to exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize between focusing on existing versus new applications and between features, architectural improvements, and operational excellence.
A self-starter who insists on creating innovative solutions and has the ability to practically apply best-practice web technologies to meet business objectives will succeed in this role.
