Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Senior Contract Administrator Analyst with government contracts experience to join our facility in West Palm Beach, FL.

 

This current opening may be filled at this level or at one level higher.

 

The Senior Analyst, Contract Administration will support the Space Large Engine Development and Production Contracts Department of Aerojet Rocketdyne, West Palm Beach.  The successful individual will be responsible for assisting in proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contact activities.  Person will work under general supervision and follow established company policies and procedures.  They will represent the organization to external customers on specific projects.

20% – Administers small to large contracts of great complexity.  Supports proposal development and negotiations and associated contract awards, change orders and/or modifications. Coordinates with a multi-disciplined Program Management team for preparation of proposal documents in response to external customers proposal requests. Performs review and evaluation of terms and conditions of contracts for contractual requirements and risks. Coordinates with Program Management team and Accounts Payable to provide timely invoicing and payment for assigned contracts.

 

20% – Interfaces with internal and external customers to answer inquiries, conducts fact-finding discussions, and interprets contract terms for problem resolution.

 

15% Prepares weekly status reporting to management of work in progress, prepares response to internal data calls as required.

 

15% – Performs contract closeout activities to include physical and electronic filing and interaction with multi-functional teams. 

 

10% – Organizes and assumes responsibility for maintenance of files, records and other documents.

 

10% – Stays current on changes to government regulations and industry protocols

 

10% – Fosters ethical conduct, practices and personal integrity throughout the Company to ensure the ability to attract and retain customers in a highly competitive environment

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and 6 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of contract requirements and ability to manage these requirements in accordance with Aerojet Rocketdyne Directives and procedures to meet Program goals.
  • Complete understanding and application of government contract administration principles, concepts, practices and standards.
  • Direct experience related to proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration and government regulations.
  • Ability to quantify an issue/situation and then become actively involved in developing an action plan to achieve a successful result and covering all aspects of the given situation.
  • Capable of guiding your team through contractual matters using your contract experience and Aerojet Rocketdyne command media knowledge.
  • Excellent knowledge of personal computer applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with leadership representing outside organizations and/or within the company.
  • Ability to work well under constantly changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Adept at handling/administering constructive changes.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience working on Department of Defense or other federal agency production and development contracts in a programmatic environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment highly desired.
  • Possess a working understanding of FAR and DFAR related federal and state legislation and regulations, and the Uniform Commercial Code.

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
