Job Summary
This position oversees the security function in assigned healthcare facilities. Implements system security and safety programs, policies and procedures. Provides security/safety related direction and support to facility leadership as needed. Contributes to strategic security planning to promote alignment among corporate and facility security goals and objectives.
Essential Functions
The security officer will be posted at various locations to ensure the safety and security on the job site. The security officer will also oversee security officers at the location. * Scheduling and other various administrative duties. * Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. * Report damage, theft, vandalism, presence of unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, injury. * Cooperate with law enforcement or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. * Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of windows, doors, locks, gates, parking lots. * Transport individuals for personal protection and safety reasons. * Patrol areas for suspicious activity and warn people when they break the rules. * Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. * Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. * Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. * Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property. * Patrol industrial or commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. * Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas. * Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed. * Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary. * Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering. * Prevent theft. * Guard designated areas. * Patrol areas for suspicious activity. * Report daily activities. * Call police or fire department in emergencies. * Respond to alarms. * Investigate disturbances. * Ensure the security of exit doors. * Escort individuals for safety reasons. * Transport individuals for personal protection. * Operate detecting devices. * Prevent passage of prohibited articles or persons into restricted areas. * Answer telephone calls. * Warn people when they break the rules. * Removed violators from premises. * Monitor security cameras. * Lock down premises in emergency situations. * Cooperate with law enforcement. * Report damage, theft, vandalism, presence of unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, injury. * Ensure security of windows, doors, locks, gates, display cases, parking lots, restricted access areas, safes, registers.
