Job Description:Enterprise Description:Provide analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB/ECF. Gather and organize data in order to monitor and test the effectiveness of key controls and status of mitigation and action plans. Prepare documentation for the tracking, monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Incumbents typically have over 5+ years of risk management and/or LOB/ECF experience. May manage staff.LOB Description:The ‘SCTO’ Securities Core Trading Operations Risk & QA team provide independent assessment, monitoring of risk and control issues across Equities Operations.Responsibilities include:Providing quality assurance and& control over SCTO key controls and& High Risk ProcessesProviding an independent assessment of control and risk issues for SCTO Leadership team, Equities business & outside Risk organizationsCollating and analyzing risk data including: Operational Losses, Regulatory submissions, Audit Status reporting; Process control Gaps, High Risk Process Metrics, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Go to Greengreen plansWorking with line management to strengthen the BAU control environment and improve control culture & practices.Embedding a risk & governance culture across all lines of business.Providing an oversight responsibility across regulatory processesKey Responsibilities:The Operations Risk & Control Specialist will be aligned to Equity Derivatives Trade Control & Stock Loan and will be responsible for:Act as the day-to-day Risk Analyst for Equity Derivatives Trade Control & Stock Loan Lines of Business ‘LOB’, providing guidance for all program issues that arisePerform independent risk assessments based on key risk and environmental risk. Set risk appetite and risk scoring. Present findings and opinions to senior managementAssist the LOB with development or enhancement of control policies and proceduresAssist LOB in developing self identified audit issue plans and coordination of tollgates with Corporate Audit and COO team. Provide independent validation of evidence & issue closureAssist the LOB with documenting and reporting Ops Losses and near miss data. Understand root cause, make recommendations for improvements to operational processes and facilitate any changes. Present & obtain approval from Operational RiskProvide regular input into the Equities RCSA program with ongoing governance of associated go to green plans & alignment of new issuesReview Process Control Standards and develop action places to remediate gapsPresent regular program updates to stakeholders & attend monthly SCTO Risk forum.Collate process control documentation from the LOB (process maps, business self-assessment, etc.) throughout the year, as process/controls/staffing changes occur.Assist in the identification of Quality Assurance routines, testing or Metrics per HRPAttend weekly control meetings to review and action control breaks and issuesRequired Skills:Risk Analysis skills (data and process) – Ability to analyze control process to identify key issues e.g. review control processes, map out key controls, identify control gaps and make recommendations. Ability to analyze complex data and make an assessment of risk e.g. review key risk and environmental indicators for a product and determine H,M,L risk status. Review incidents and loss events establish exposure and recommendations for changeInfluence – Ability to influence outside of direct team to facilitate changes to control environment e.g. through review of incidents and losses. Ability to challenge in a firm but non- confrontational mannerOrganizational Skills – Excellent organizational & multi-tasking skills to support monthly risk process whilst at same time addressing variety of ad-hoc requests and issues as they arise. Ability to work to tight deadlines and produce accurate and complete analysisCommunication – Ability to deal and communicate at all levels within the organization. Advanced written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to discuss and defend risk opinion to senior management and product line ‘expert’Control policy – Detailed understanding of operations support functions (securities and asset servicing) processes, procedures, controls and practices.
