Providence is calling a Special Procedure Nurse (Nursing Admin, Day Shift, 0.15 FTE) to St.
Elias Specialty Hospital.

In this position you will:
Ensuring a high standard of nursing care for patients attending the Special Procedure Room, This job description is not an employment agreement or contract.

Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychobiologic and cognitive needs of the patient/family.
Utilizes assessment data in formulating nursing diagnoses.
Provide technical assistance during diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures ensuring safe working practice.
Working with minimal supervision during endoscopic procedures, admission and recovery of patients and other related procedures.
Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identify dysrhythmias, and provide appropriate treatment
Ensure for safe transport of all patients to and from the Special Procedure Room.
Participating in the care and maintenance of endoscopes and other specialized equipment, traceability of all endoscopes and associated equipment.
Communicate with nursing staff, supervisors, coworkers and physicians, consulting other departments to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patients’ needs.
Ability to rotate to clinical areas as directed to assist in safe staffing ratios; utilizes resources to safely transport sedated patients to an appropriate or designated area within the clinical units.
Maintain documentation that meets current standards and policies.
Performs other job related duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
State of Alaska RN licensure
BLS certification and ACLS certification required
Certification in conscious sedation within one month of employment
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing
Minimum 2 years relevant nursing experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous endoscopy and OR experience
ICU, critical care, or telemetry experience
