The Cath Lab Nurse provides direct nursingcare in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of thehealthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:

• Carries out physician orders andassesses plans to administer patient care
• Utilizing computerized documentationsystems and monitors vital signs
• Monitors, records and communicatespatient condition as appropriate
• Administers medications, changesdressings, and cleans wounds
• Serves as the primary coordinator ofall disciplines for patient care
• Follows Standard Precautions usingpersonal protective equipment
• Coordinates discharge planning needswith members as needed
• Instructs and educates patients andfamilies
• Provides age and culturallyappropriate care
• Orients and mentors new staffmembers

1+ Years of experience as a RN in a critical care settingrequired

Customer service abilities includingeffective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision in a fast pacedenvironment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing,bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipmentup to 50 pounds.

West Florida Hospital is a 515 bed facility and the only Atrial Fibrillation Certified hospital. WFH hasalso been honored as a Truven Top 100 Hospital and just recently received theirJoint Commission Sepsis accreditation.  Additionally, WFH was the area’s firstAccredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.We are also an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
