TITLE: Retail Stocker

REPORTS TO: Assistant Retail Manager, Retail Managers, General Manager

WORK SCHEDULE/COMPENSATION : Part-Time/ Full-Time (Varies on season and position) $15-$17/hr DOE

OBJECTIVE

The main objective of working in any warehouse facility on Denver Zoo property is to keep a clean, safe, organized space, and to ensure inventory integrity. The warehouse associate will be expected to know the below.

BASICS

· Correctly and accurately receive product

· Be able to lift 50lbs

· Be able to receive multiple deliveries a day and notify proper channels of command

· Work with a sense of urgency and accuracy

· Know what a packing order and a packing slip are

· Be able to work with other departments within the zoo including other management

· Have basic guest service knowledge

· Have valid driver’s license

· Be able to communicate with upper level management daily

· Conduct yourself in a professional manor

· Should be able to work on feet for 8-10 hours a day and be willing to walk around the zoo possibly multiple times a day

· Must be able to be responsible for keys and access to the zoo before, during, and after Zoo operating hours

INVENTORY INTEGRITY

· As part of our loss prevention manual it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain the integrity of our inventory to ensure that we are not missing product on our floors or in our storage areas

· Should know how to use POS system to track and control inventory

· Learn protocols for transfers, receiving, tagging, adding UPC’s, and vouchering

· Product is to be accurately counted and ticketed with the correct item number and description before making it into the store

· Proper labels on boxes and shelves

REQUISITIONS OR RESTOCK OF THE STORES

· Needs to move quickly and effectively to pull stock to replenish the stores

CLEANLINESS AND SAFTEY

· Cleanliness of warehouse and stockroom need to be maintained daily

· Should have a basic knowledge of Denver Zoo’s recycling, compost, and landfill processes

· Warehouse is swept and free of trash and debris on the floor and under shelves

· Work area and desk must ALWAYS be clean

· Should know basic safety measures to take when in warehouse environment: Ladder, cutting, pallet jack safety, etc.

TECHNOLOGY

· Should be able to work computer basics such as:

– Microsoft Word

– Excel

– E-Mail (Outlook)

-Shared Drive, One Drive, and Teams

COMMUNICATION

· Must acknowledge that communication is key to running this operation

· Any warehouse concerns, issues, or needs should be communicated with Warehouse Supervisor/Manager, ROM and buyer

· Should know how to use City Walkie Talkie properly

SCHEDULE

· Each person will be responsible for working at least 1 full shift on the weekend to make sure warehouse is up to standard and ready to receive on Monday

· Off season and times when store is short staffed, warehouse team members may be switched to retail hours

ADDITIONAL TASKS:

· Driving company vehicle to and from headquarters, off-site storage and other off-site locations

· Must have valid driver’s license and pass company vehicle background check

· Cleanliness and maintenance of company vehicles

· Requests made by upper management (GM, AGM, and HR/Unit Controller

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
