Position Summary $500 SIGN-ON BONUS after 90 days of employmentGettysburg College is seeking a full-time Refuse Hauler to work in the Facilities Services Department.
This position functions as a principle driver and loader of the Gettysburg College refuse truck, helping to preserve the attractive appearance and safety of the campus through the removal of trash and recyclable materials.
Reporting directly to the Grounds Supervisor and/or Manager of Ground and Landscaping Services, the Refuse Hauler is responsible for collecting and depositing refuse in the truck and transporting refuse to the local landfill.
This position will also perform minor maintenance on the refuse truck, ensuring that the truck is neat, clean, and in a safe operating condition at all times.
This position may be asked to assist with other areas of Grounds and Facilities to help service the campus community.
When all trash and recycling duties are completed, the successful candidate will assist with the general grounds and landscaping needs of the College as directed by the Grounds Supervisor.
Additional duties could include, but are not limited to, serving as backup to the Recycling Hauler position and assisting with campus snow removal.

Qualifications A high school education or the equivalent is required, along with at least two years of experience driving a Class B truck.
A valid Commercial Class B driver’s license is required along with a favorable driving record.
Experience as a refuse collector or refuse hauler is preferred, but not a requirement.
This position is required to work every other Saturday and some Sundays during the academic year.
Due to weather conditions, seasonal events, and operational requirements, this position may be required to work overtime on occasion.
