Quality, Risk and Safety RN

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital

Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital is looking for a full time Quality, Risk and Safety RN to work in our Quality, Risk, and Safety Department. Predominately working 8-hours shifts, five days per week.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs chart audits/abstractions as directed to identify opportunities for improvement regarding documentation issues and regulatory standard compliance
• Collaborates with the Quality/Risk/Safety Director to provide classes, workshops, presentations or educational materials to address regulatory standard requirements
• Conducts environmental rounds and concurrent review to identify risk, and safety issues.
• Conducts clinical case studies under the direction of Quality/Risk/Safety Director regarding safety, infection control and risk issues.
• Assesses staff learning needs regarding Infection Control and Safety requirements through data review and environmental rounds to identify learning needs (example – Risk reporting events)
• Performs TJC tracer activities
• Assist the Quality/Risk/Safety Director with IC surveillance, data collection and reporting of findings.
• Assists Quality/Risk/Safety Director with data collection/trending regarding compliance pertaining to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Conducts RSV and MRSA Surveillance and data reporting via electronic format in conjunction with infection control.

Job Requirements:

Experience:  Min of two (2) years nursing experience in health institution.  Quality or Risk experience preferred.

Other Requirements:  Current registered nurse license in Nevada.
