Job Description:
Determine through various inspection techniques acceptability of product as it pertains to ZYGO and external customer Drawings, Specifications etc. The inspector should be well versed in the use of standard inspection gaging (micrometers, Vernier calipers, shadowgraphs, pin and plug gages) as well as electronic inspection devices such as HYPOT, multimeters and voltmeters, and optical surface quality inspection using eye loupes, comparators and microscopes. In addition, this position should be able to perform in-process and final inspection within the facility and be able to understand the demands of the business and prioritize inspection requirements

Job Specific Duties/Qualifications
Ability to read and understand the following:
o Blue prints
o Zygo specifications
o Customer specifications, including Sales Orders and Statements of Work
o GD&T
o Special process instructions
o Inspection check lists
o Sampling Plans
o MIL Standards
o ISO Standards
Ability to use basic gaging (Micrometers, Pin/Plug Gages, Vernier Calipers, Hypot, Multimeters, voltmeters)
Computer literate (Microsoft Office):
Effective communications both written and oral
Work in a 6S environment
Ability to prioritize inspection requirements as they relate to the business needs
Ability to inspect using open set up techniques
Ability to Interpret FAI documentation
Ability to run and program a CMM
Optics Specialty a Plus
o Handling of Precision Glass Product
o Detailed Visual Inspection to MIL and ISO specifications
o Ability to inspect for Scratches, Digs
o Capable of using basic optical inspection equipment such as auto collimators and interferometers

• Minimum of 5-7 year’s experience as an inspector
• High School /Trade School Diploma, Associates degree a plus
• Basic math skills
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of GD&T, basic inspection skills
