Quality Engineer

HON and Allsteel, industry leaders in workplace furnishings, are in search of a Quality Engineer to our HNI Furniture Operations team in Muscatine, IA!

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of engineering activities centered on quality controls in our processes, equipment, and product output. You will investigate, analyze, and implement solutions to positively impact manufacturing operations across the organization.

As a preferred candidate for this role, you will have at least 2 years of experience from within a manufacturing or production environment, with a focus on Quality Control or Operations. You will have working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment with a proficient understanding of lean processes and concepts, rapid continuous improvement, and strong aptitude for data analysis, waste reduction, warranty costs, and PPM (parts per million). In addition, strong communication and presentation skills are critical for productive member and customer interaction.

Some of the essential aspects of the Quality Engineer position include:

• Lead quality improvements in manufacturing operations
• Investigate and provide solutions to productivity, quality, and delivery issues.
• Coordinate processes and drive proactive corrective actions
• Champion quality expectations and collaborate with related groups to reach quality goals

What it takes:

• Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in engineering or industrial technology. Business degrees will be considered.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment operations, and product development with an emphasis on lean principals, cost containment, and rapid continuous improvement
• 2 years of manufacturing experience with emphasis on quality
