The interchange of ideas from a diverse group of people gives our teams an expanded perspective and the ability to find better solutions for our clients.**Company :** Black & Veatch Corporation**Req Id :** 64067**Job Title :** Project Estimator – Energy & Process Industries**Location :** USVRTL**Business Unit Sector :** COR-BVOPS-ESTIMATING**Opportunity Type :** Staff**Relocation eligible :** No**Full time/Part time :** Full-Time**Project Only Hire :** No**Visa Sponsorship Available:** No**Job Summary**This position may bereferred to as alead position; It is the first level which includes responsibility for technical direction over a group of estimators.The incumbent will also have individual contributor responsibilities as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced estimating concepts.**Key Responsibilities**Under general supervision, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Personal safety as well as the safety of co-workers• Adhere to all applicable Estimating Procedures to drive consistency across regional offices/business lines• Development and implementation of the Estimating plans with the project team• Lead the development of an assigned scope of work for the timely and accurate response to client, project management, departmental, and company requirements• On extremely large-sized, mega projects, report to the lead Estimating professional and direct a portion of the Estimating staff• On large-sized projects, direct a staff of Estimating professionals• On medium or small-sized projects, act independently or may direct a staff of Estimating professionals• Participate in the presentation of Estimating deliverables to BV and client management• Self-checking the accuracy of his/her work and that of subordinatesPersonal development expectations include, but are not limited to:• Develop and conduct Estimating training programs• Evaluate risk analysis and make contingency recommendations• Mentor less experienced Estimating professionals• Continue self-development started in lower classifications• Participate in training as assigned and as opportunities permitBasic tasks frequently performed in this position include:• Arrange and conduct discipline, department, and project reviews• Assist in proposal/project completion activities and turnover to the project team• Coordinate Estimating activities with the project team**Management Responsibilities**Individual Contributor**Preferred Qualifications**• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, not required• Advanced knowledge of MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word• Field / projectexperience is a plus.• Advanced experience with 3rd party Estimating software programs (specifically Aspen Capital Cost Estimator)• Demonstrated ability to develop estimates up to $500,000 in value**Minimum Qualifications**6 to 20 years of relevant experience, including some estimating experience, is required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.**Work Environment/Physical Demands**Typical office environment: Sitting/standing/computer-usage for extended period of time.
