OVERVIEW We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for Osceola location in Pahokee, Florida.
This position requires you to work as part of the engineering group providing engineering solutions to new and existing installations to improve the operation of the facility.
Portions of your time will be spent planning future process improvements, capital projects, scheduled outages and facility maintenance.
This position will require an individual that can manage budgets, assess needs and provide engineering support to the operations.
The selected person will be responsible for leadership, supervision of in house personnel and sub-contractors.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare bill of material lists for new projects and estimate costs.
To prepare a price quotation documentation for equipment and or installation.
Performs root cause and cost-benefit analysis on performance deficiencies.
Develops equipment and service bid specifications, and evaluates purchase recommendations.
To prepare scope of works and specifications for engineering installation.
Supervise Contractor’s activity including safety regulations.
Elaborate on projects that could improve and lower operation and maintenance costs.
Prepare engineered structural supports for equipment and installations.
Create flow diagrams for any factory process.
Communicate with vendor/Suppliers on technical matters related new equipment and installation Establish and maintain effective working relationships with department employees and contractors WORK EXPERIENCES Two years experience working in the industry as an engineering capacity, sugar industry experience preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Degree must have been awarded by an accredited college or university in the US, if degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the US Territory independent verification of equivalency must be provided.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Some ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) Familiar with OSHA, Environmental and Health rules and regulations Technical interpretation of engineering drawings.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft project, excel and word.
Clear understanding of the raw and refined sugar process.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to receive, comprehend and utilize OSHA required training.
Ability to ascend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders as part of normal work activity and emergency egress situations.
Ability to work in contrasting plant environments.
Ability to move about all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, wet and muddy areas, and uneven surfaces.
SAP experience preferred Provide temporal supervision to employees while other supervisors are off-duty.
