The position will provide support to local and tribal (as applicable) jurisdictions in identifying and meeting the public health and medical needs of communities.

The position will support all plans and planning activities related to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
– Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Cooperative Agreement.50% Assist PHERC to develop, review and update regional plans, policies, agreements and protocols to include but be not limited to Strategic National Stockpile (SNS)/Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI), Medical Special Needs Sheltering (MSNS), Point of Dispensing (POD) Plans, securing PODs, Memorandums of Agreements (MOAs) for PODs (new and expiring), and maintaining local parish 48-hr mass dispensing plans, completing site surveys, CHEMPACK sustainment and all other plans as directed.

Supports documentation requests for critical grant benchmarks.

Communicates public health emergency planning/response information to critical stakeholders (internal/external partners).

Ensures that all regional plans are aligned and meet the standards recognized under the Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101.25% As directed by the PHERC, works with internal partners and community partners (i.e.

OHSEPs, government officials, heath care providers, EMS, law enforcement, GOSHEP, DCFS, etc.) to develop and conduct trainings for all-hazards emergencies.

Support the coordination of regional public health emergencies in response to natural and man-made disasters.

Serves as a member of the regional Incident Management Team for all-hazards emergencies.

Updates and maintains the LDH-OPH regional emergency staff database inclusive of staff schedules and completed trainings.

Serves as a backup for 24/7 monitoring of emails for Hazardous Material Incident Reports and follows-up as appropriate.

Coordinates and assists in the development of OPH regional exercises.

Prepares After Action Reports (AARs) at the completion of all regional OPH exercises and real world events/responses.

As directed by PHERC, serves as a regional representative and active participant in public/private partnerships emergency planning activities.15% Meets routinely with PHERC, Regional Medical Director and the Bureau of Community Preparedness to ensure alignment on all grant and programmatic goals.

Performs additional duties as directed by PHERC and needed to support regional planning and response efforts.10% Supports community risk assessments to continuously inform regional planning.

Participates in the risk assessment process through data collection and analysis.

Conducts and attends emergency planning/response meetings with internal and external partners.

Provides training and information on emergency response plans.
