Job Description _____________________________________________________________________ Position: Production Painter Department: Assembly Shop Full-Time/Part-Time: Full Location: Okmulgee, OK FLSA: Non-Exempt Hrly. Reports to (Title): Assembly Shop Supervisor Job Code: KB03 Objective : Responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects. Occasionally assemble mechanical parts, pieces or products using various tools and equipment. Essential Functions / Responsibilities : Operate a variety of pneumatic paint guns and electro-static paint guns. Support plant safety policies. Recognize cosmetics issues dealing with paint, as well as issues resulting from obvious irregularities, in form, fit and finish. Recognize obvious irregularities in fit, form, or function for our product and equipment. Paint with a variety of paints, their proper mix ratios, and dry times. Properly manage inventories to ensure the proper amount of paint and supplies remain on hand. Properly manage the waste streams in the paint area for both hazardous and non-hazardous products. Use material handling equipment (Raymond lifts, walkie stackers, low boys, etc.) to pull and position parts and materials necessary to perform your assigned tasks. Work effectively in a team, or group environment. Train and coach employees in how to improve performance in all areas of painting. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area as well as the entire facility. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED recipient Must be able to follow all written and verbal work instruction, operations, and procedures. Must be able to read and understand blueprints. Experienced with operating a variety of pneumatic paint guns and electro-static paint guns Have the ability to use pneumatic tools and impacts. Basic computer skills required for the completion of timecards and production information as necessary in a computerized production management system. Must have the ability, knowledge, and confidence to consistently meet or exceed the expected productivity standards for all work performed. Must be able to use material handling equipment (Raymond lifts, walkie stackers, low boys, etc.) to pull and position parts and materials necessary to perform your assigned tasks. Must have the ability and desire to work effectively and get along with others in a workgroup environment. Employee is working around heavy machinery. Employees must be able to operate safely in a busy industrial environment. Additional physical requirements include standing, walking, bending 90% of the time. Ability to squat, kneel on both knees, bend forward at the waist, and hold hands above head.
