Production Packer 1st shift 6:45am-3:00pm $14.75 2nd shift 2:45pm-11:00pm $15.75 JOB SUMMARY: The Packer is expected to perform the duties listed below along with any other requirements requested by He/she(s) supervisor RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: o Hand package sachets of food product into finished product cartons o Inspect food sachets for quality compliance (print and seal qualities, and weigh checks) o Operate form-fill-seal machine to produce sachets o Monitor production equipment for proper operation o Document all necessary recordings while producing (weights, scrap, quality and downtime issues…) o Comply with production requirements for expected output/shift o Identify/communicate reasons for missed production output/quality issues and downtime occurrences o In situation be prepared to lift 30-35lbs boxes from production line o Responsible for department organization, cleanliness, and Master sanitation schedule o Work in compliance to all company procedures as pertaining to safety, quality and production o Work any & all production positions as requested o Cover for breaks /lunch throughout the department o Count sachets on line or inside boxes as needed o Assist in changing of film when change-over and film charges are required o Initiate cleaning process of sealing jaws, also changing of cutting blades o Ability to learn basic machinery functions (Adjusting sachet weight) QUALIFICATIONS: Required: o Proficient of written and spoken English o Proven positive attendance record and proven record of punctuality in previous employment with no written warnings o Have keen visual and comprehensive inspection skills & proven experience o A good understanding of a Quality Management System (QMS) o Ability to learn and follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP’s) as directed o Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 lbs. for short distances o Must be 18 years or older o Self-starter – works with minimal supervision o Prior experience in a manufacturing environment o Prior participation in safety teams / have had certified safety training o Willing to train for expanded duties in batch making & blending areas o Ability to use a low-lift/Walkie 550 Romano Vineyard Way, North Kingstown, RI 02852 • Phone 401-272-5521 Fax 401-272-5521 • www.edesianutrition.org Preferred: o Prior experience working in a food specific manufacturing facility o High school education or GED equivalent o Demonstrate basic math skills and use of desktop computer o Flexible in working hours/shifts o Can accommodate overtime as requested o Prior experience working with packaging equipment WORKING CONDITIONS: o Industrial food manufacturing/Production line environment o Close proximity to peanuts, vegetable oils and food powders o Fast paced continuous production line o Requires constant standing while on production floor o Inconsistent loud machinery for less than two hour increments Apply today in our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App New Users: To get started, please click on your device’s respective store below and download the app. Then, click on “Search and Apply for a Job” and type in position number 1306611 in your search.
