We invite you to explore opportunities with Cubic.Job Details:Job Summary:Negotiates and purchases materials and services involving engineering and technical requirements that are of a complex nature, high dollar value and/or critical need. Provides guidance and assistance to lower level procurement personnel. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. This position will regularly exercise substantial decision-making authority.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:* Undertakes complex sourcing involving engineering and technical requirements* Identifies, evaluates, and develops new suppliers within the market based on capabilities required* Maintains supplier relationships in order to build critical partnerships that drive sourcing improvements* Prepares and executes eRFX events in order to ensure that spend is recompeted on a consistent basis* Leads supplier negotiations and awards contracts in a cost-effective manner ensuring most favorable price, terms and delivery dates.* Assists Business Development, Material Cost Estimating, Contracts and other departments, as requested, to develop proposals for new business* Designs and executes large scale procurement saving projects* Provides guidance and assistance to lower level procurement personnelMinimum Job Requirements:* Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in materials management, business administration, technical or closely related discipline, plus a minimum of 6 years of strategic sourcing using complex sourcing techniques.* Materials management certificate desirable.* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications.* Ability to conduct and administer complex technical sourcing strategies, perform price and cost analyses for new business proposals, and effectively negotiate and communicate with suppliers and internal customers.* Must possess solid computer skills including the ability to effectively utilize PC-based word processing and spreadsheet applications.* Must be able to manage procurement schedules, prioritize many assignments simultaneously, and work under tight deadlines.The description provided above is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties, responsibilities and requirements.
