Process Specialist I (Training)

Location: Washington, DC / Rockville, MD area

Employment Status: PART TIME

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Position Summary:

Potawatomi Training is seeking a qualified candidate with three (3) plus years experience as a Process Specialist I (Training) to support our efforts within the Indian Health Service.

The Process Specialist I will help to define training needs and contribute to the development and implementation of training programs, curriculum, and end-user training materials; coordinate training activities; and train personnel to enhance job skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.

Design, plan, organize, or direct orientation and training programs for employees or customers.

Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills.

Present information with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.

Obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.

Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness.

Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.

Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts.

Evaluate modes of training delivery, such as in-person or virtual, to optimize training effectiveness, training costs, or environmental impacts.

Keep up with developments in area of expertise by reading current journals, books, or magazine articles.

Negotiate contracts with clients for desired training outcomes, fees, or expenses.

Attend meetings or seminars to obtain information for use in training programs or to inform management of training program status.

Monitor training costs and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures.

Select and assign instructors to conduct training.

Schedule classes based on availability of classrooms, equipment, or instructors.

Supervise, evaluate, or refer instructors to skill development classes.

Devise programs to develop executive potential among employees in lower-level positions.

Additional tasks as required.

Common Task Requirements:
Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, phone systems and use computers for spreadsheets, word processing, database management, electronic mail, and other applications.

Prepare reports, memos, letters, forms, briefings, emails, and other documents using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.

Make changes to Word documents, modify Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations to enhance their effectiveness or to repair/correct minor errors.

Compose, type, and distribute notes, routine correspondence and reports in the format established by their assigned organization.

Prepare official document in formats specified.

Accomplish any training necessary to execute tasks.

Provide customer service as needed and respond to information requests.

REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or higher, certifications or experience can substitute for degree.

Three (3) plus years experience as a Process Specialist I specializing in training or experience as a training administrator or training coordinator Experience within the healthcare environment Familiar with HIPPA and COVID 19 initiatives Ability to work with multiple health care organizations and diverse groups of people.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential.

Experience with various medical software and training-based software.

Familiar with statistical programming
Other Requirements:
Must be physically able to perform all the technical duties.

Must be able to adapt under a highly stressful multi-task environment for extend periods of time/up to 8 hours.

If prior service, must have received an honorable discharge.

Applicant will be subject to Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
