Summary:
The Process Engineer, Operations, will increase productivity and decrease manufacturing costs through process improvement initiatives, production equipment modification, material re-engineering, manufacturing flow optimization and other innovative solutions while maintaining an accident free workplace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Process Engineer’s (PE) primary responsibility is to drive significant improvements in machine uptime, machine scrap and machine speeds.
- The PE should be able to achieve at least $500k in annual productivity improvements.
To achieve these savings, the PE will work with CI, Ops, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to:
- Work with machine operators and Leads to understand and help remove the barriers to improved uptime, speed and scrap.
- Analyze and evaluate existing manufacturing processes.
- Research, design, and develop innovative low-cost ways to optimize productivity and workflow.
- Oversee and direct the implementation of productivity improvement ideas coordination with L&D.
- Investigate and troubleshoot any problems that arise with processes, procedures, and operations.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- minimum of 5 years of technical/engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging/conversion industry
- Continuous Improvement – Lean / Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
Language Skills:
- Must be capable of speaking, reading, and writing English
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
- Must be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to mechanical design.
- Ability to apply concepts such as geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
- Must be computer literate and efficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs – required
- AutoCAD Software experience

- Knowledge of electrical controls systems
