Pay Range: $16.05 per hr – $22.71 per hr
Shift Premium: $.20 per hr for 2nd shift & $.30 per hr for 3rd shift
Your responsibilities
- The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for efficient productions of quality products in the required quantities.
- Locate correct parts (Band and Winding) and set up machine to shove Band and Winding.
- Assemble conduit boxes to stators.
- Use Shop Floor Display, read and comprehend: Special Instructions, TDRs, Manufacturing Instructions, and all diagrams related to task.
- Read a tape measure, scale, and do basic calculations with aid of a computer and/or calculator.
- Control and adjust machine settings to adhere to blueprints, work from layouts and dimensions on drawings to perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to identify various shove tools and use them according to safe work practices. Identify and order appropriate supplies, parts, and tools as needed and identify materials used at their workstation as required by the job or job process.
- Use of flex flow and day and rank system.
- Use of air manipulator and hoist for lifting motors.
- Meet specifications, produce a quality product, work defect free work and meet production goals.
- Production operators to train and/or perform the tasks of the other associates in the area as needed.
- Communicate with other operators and supervisor to discuss any problems.
- Support other functions within the team/department.
- Must be able to work with others in a team environment.
- Willing to cross train on other position within the team/department.
- Place safety in the workplace above all else and follow safety guidelines along with reporting safety issues.
- Daily housekeeping.
- Work overtime and other duties as needed.
Your background
- Education and Experience Needed:
- -High School Diploma or equivalent required
- -6 months of Industrial type experience or in lieu of industrial experience will consider military service or vocational/technical high school or technical college courses.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
- Steady work history.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Adaptable to change and ability to cross-train.
- Detailed oriented.
- Must be able to work any shift.
- Must be able to use hoist (in some areas).
- Requires repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting of motors/parts weighing up to 50 lbs. Hoist will be used for weight for over 50 lbs.
- Able to push buggies with parts/motors using between 55 lbs. to 75 lbs. of initial force to move it, with 25 lbs. of sustained force to keep it moving.
- Must be able to have exposure to lubrication, oil and grease.
- Understand and use all required Personal Protective Equipment.
- Able to work 40 hours a week and required overtime.
- Ability to think independently while successfully functioning in a team environment.
- Able to perform task in a manufacturing environment.
- Standing on concrete floor for 8 hours or more a day.
