Position Overview:
As an Associate on the Power Markets Research team, you will work to improve REsurety’s suite of power markets fundamentals and statistical models by expanding geographic scope and improving granularity and accuracy.

You will work with members of REsurety’s Research, Engineering, Analytics, and Product teams to increase the commercial value of modeling results across REsurety’s existing and future product lines.

This role will give you the opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners in electricity market design, fundamentals modeling, and the application of statistical tools to electricity-related questions.

At REsurety, you will also be exposed to concepts and processes from software engineering and product development, further expanding your learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Expand REsurety’s statistical and fundamentals-based power market modeling capabilities
Develop forward-looking scenarios representing a variety of drivers (e.g.

wind/solar buildout)
Keep fundamentals model up to date given changing market rules and structures
Communicate results and conclusions with internal and external customers
Collaborate with Engineering to integrate power markets modeling with REsurety’s systems

Required Experience & Qualifications

Experience using a programming language to manipulate, analyze, and visualize data
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in a technical field

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience using production cost modeling software (e.g.

PSO, PLEXOS, …)
2+ years experience using Optimization, Statistics, or Machine Learning in an applied setting
Experience with R, Python, or SQL
