Pipeline Laborer

hardison/downey inc., a Kitchell operating company, seeks an experienced Pipeline Laborer to join our close-knit team of employee-owners. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented companies in the Unites States.The Pipeline Laborer performs labor work for sewer, water and storm drain installation in Civil Infrastructure projects.Duties & Responsibilities• Assists in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Supervisor.• Helps other crew members assembling pipe fittings.• Assists with digging at project sites.• Performs other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceRequired:• High School Diploma or equivalency; AND/OR• 1 to 3 years’ of experience in sewer, water and storm drain construction.Desired:• CPR & First Aid preferred.Knowledge and Skills• Experience in efficiently executing laborer duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.• Experience using hand tools such as wrenches and ratchets.• Experience operating and maintaining gas powered hand tools and other small construction equipment.• Experience using good decision making skills in a fast paced, high production environment.Work Environment• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently inspects the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment.• The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.• This position is performed in outside weather conditions.Physical Requirements• While performing the duties of this job, the position is very active and the employee is frequently standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, digging, trenching and climbing throughout day.• Operating heavy equipment and hand tools.• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds safely.Travel Requirement• Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.• Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions.• Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.About Our Company: hardison/downey is a commercial contractor focusing on multifamily senior housing, hospitality, Class A office and retail markets.
