Foreign Assignment: This position will offer a long-term deployment to a foreign country. Supporting the USAF F35 training operations at Lakenheath AB, UK. The successful candidate will support the sustainment, maintenance, and operation of the F-35 Pilot training devices at the F35 Pilot Training Center. Duties include but not limited to Installation of components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and customer facilities. Perform, conduct, and document preventive maintenance checks required for the devices and associated subsystems. Update maintenance data collection records and assist with the installation and check-out of modifications to equipment. Maintain simulation devices to meet availability specifications. Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals or simulator documents. Assist with installations, testing, and maintenance of F-35 software packages. Isolate and report malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable levels. Documents and maintain cabling schemes and drawings. Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards. Have the ability to complete documentation accurately per Operating Instructions. Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required. Will work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin training team on site to fulfill F-35 training objectives. Will implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs and policies as directed. Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with JSF program and customer procedures. Sanitize all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, etc.) to the LRU in accordance with established JSF and customer procedures. Must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature. This position is under the Employee Annual Incentive Program (EAIP) which pays out a yearly bonus based on your annual employee Commit ratings and company performance. Travel to support other sites CONUS and OCONUS may also be required.
Basic Qualifications:
Possess a current Final Secret security clearance with last investigation within 6 years
Possess a current Security+ certification, or the ability to obtain within 2 months from date-of-hire as a condition of continued employment.
Experience leading a small and growing team in a field operations setting.
Demonstrated background with problem/incident management. Demonstrated background with hardware / software change management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work unsupervised towards program goals. Strong systems engineering background. Willingness to work a flexible schedule aligned to customer operational needs. 1st or 2nd shift.
Desired Skills:
Bachelor’s degree Demonstrated experience managing, operating, and maintaining Pilot Training Devices
Proven hardware and software support experience in a training/modeling and simulation environment. Network troubleshooting and maintenance experience. Experience working in access controlled facilities. Ability to brief/teach technical information to internal and external audiences. Ability to lead and mentor other team members.
Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for support
ALIS/CMMS experience
