Phlebotomist II-Family Medicine-PRN

This is a Contract position in Pilot Mountain, NC posted March 4, 2022.

Skillfully organizes workflow to receive and deliver specimens expeditiously; utilizes computer knowledge to efficiently input information for patients and specimens; assumes limited responsibility of the department in the absence of a manager; serves as a technical expert within the department, demonstrates and encourages professional and technical excellence among co-workers; implements training directives; maintains a high accuracy rate and displays an increased attention to detail by accurately and efficiently entering patient results into the laboratory information system;  uses discretion in providing resolution to problems; demonstrates flexibility in scheduling by volunteering to work other shifts as required to meet departmental needs;   promotes a harmonious working relationship with team members; able to work independently with little or no supervision; other duties as assigned.

  • Education: High School or GED Required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: One year of relevant phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:  ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA Required.
  • Additional skills required:  Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
