Overview: Duties include greeting and welcoming patients upon arrival.
Scheduling patient visits.
Obtaining, verifying and entering insurance and demographic information from patients and entering information into an account maintenance system.
Verifying visit in compliance with the insurance contract.
Collecting patient co-pays as needed.
Maintaining high visibility and availability at entrance and waiting rooms.
Providing direction and information and notifying patient care staff of patient arrival.The PSC must have knowledge of computers, database/word processing software and standard office procedures and equipment.
A candidate for this position must also possess excellent customer service and communications skills.This position is Monday/Tuesdays at Maple Grove, Wednesdays at Uptown and Thursday at our CSC Mpls location.1.0 FTE position authorized for 80 hours per pay periodFully Benefit EligibleSchedule is Monday

A candidate for this position must also possess excellent customer service and communications skills.schedule changes accurately, communicating changes to all involved staffSeeks out solution to time conflicts directly through parties involved and other available resources.Scans pertinent documents into the patient recordInforms patients if there is an unexpected change in their scheduled appointment, including offering other options, rescheduling or cancellingCompletes clerical and reception dutiesAnswers, screens, and responds to telephones callsReviews and routes scans, faxes, inter-departmental or postal service mailTakes and leaves concise messages for patients and responds as requestedMakes new patient packetsPulling and tallying dataWord processingReport developmentDevelops and implements office/department procedures to maintain systems and recordsOrders supplies and monitors par levels for the departmentLocates and orders repairs and service requestsMaintains databases, files and records on a regular basis according to established procedureCompletes the Medicare and Medical Assistance certification, as applicableThe PSC working in settings that are providing patient care are responsible for:Checking in patientsFacilitates all necessary paperworkObtains all necessary patient consent and delivers privacy and bill of rights informationGathers patient demographicObtains necessary signaturesEnsuring waiting room and front desk appearance is professional and clean Qualifications: EducationVocational/Technical training or Associate DegreeExperience1 years experience as a scheduler/administrative assistant in a healthcare settingMust have strong interpersonal and phone skills.
Must be self-directed in fulfilling job duties.
