This is a Full-time position in Cleveland, MS posted December 18, 2021.

This position accurately obtains personal and financial information to admit/register patients to the hospital’s various clinical departments or inpatient care. Responsible for the collecting required deposits at time of service in compliance to EMTALA regulations. Position answers PBX for rollover calls and after hours including weekends.  Position performs any clerical duties as required.  Position maintains a friendly and courteous atmosphere by observing BMC Customer Service standards and telephone courtesy guidelines. Position ensures that the patient information is collected for admission into computer database and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Job Requirements:

A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required.
Experience:
Previous Admission or related field experience is preferred.
Skills:
The position requires good customer service skills. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate service excellence through appropriate response and use of constructive problem solving techniques when confronted with different people or situations; use of effective communication skills which foster positive outcomes. Able to maintain a high awareness of patient satisfaction and team work. Able to pay attention to detail and work in a stressful environment. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts as needed for appropriate departmental coverage. The candidate must be willing to work with minimal supervision. Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific unit. Must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and be able to work effectively with resident physicians, hospital personnel, and support agencies. 
Typical Physical Demands:
The position requires full range of motion including handling and lifting of boxes and/or equipment, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination. Must be able to stand, walk, squat or bend and move about freely a considerable amount of time and be able to routinely lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. The position requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours.
