Job Summary:Disney Publishing Worldwide is seeking a detail-oriented Editorial Assistant to work on a variety of licensed titles featuring Marvel characters.The position involves working closely with members of Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Press, and Disney Publishing Worldwide including editorial, global licensing, and creative operations teams, alongside licensees, to closely review and ensure high quality, an age-appropriate nature, and strong appeal of books designed for fans of Marvel comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.The ideal candidate will be a fast reader with strong communication and writing skills, a keen eye for detail, a deep familiarity with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel comics, comfort with online content management systems, the ability to juggle multiple projects at once, and some experience in the publishing industry, ideally in a licensed editorial role.The Editorial Assistant will report to the Executive Editor of Marvel Press, a part of Disney Publishing Worldwide.This position will be based in Orlando, Florida.Responsibilities:Review all production stages of dozens of licensed publishing titles weekly, from covers to full text reviews to art and design reviews.Ensure quality and age-appropriate depictions of characters, stories, and themes in projects featuring Marvel characters.Communicate concerns to and work on solutions with a variety of stakeholders, including Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Studios, and licensees.Develop brand guidelines for internal and external use.Develop a deep knowledge base of Marvel Presss publishing, both domestic and global.Basic Qualifications:Exceptional reading, writing, and verbal communication skillsComprehensive knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic UniverseFamiliarity with Marvel comicsAbility to stay organized and focused through multiple rounds of ongoing review on numerous ongoing projects, including quickly reading full books (both fiction and nonfiction); reviewing covers and interior layouts through numerous rounds of revisions; and tracking, maintaining, enforcing, and improving brand guidelines.Familiarity with Excel and WordHigh comfort level with learning and using bespoke online content management systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in publishing preferred but not essentialRequired EducationBA/BSAdditional Information:Benefits and Perks: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
