Job Description Job Title: Packing Employees Department: GU Facility Reports to: Packing Supervisor FLSA status: Non-Exempt JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Receives, stores, and distributes material and products within warehouse/packing department by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Packs produce as required into boxes or bags o Packing requires proper placement of produce as to minimize bruising or other product damage o Ensure proper count or weight is placed into bag or box using properly calibrated produce scales o Ensure proper count of packed product is placed into master bag · Label boxes, bags or trays per specification ensuring proper orientation and clean placement of labels without wrinkles or smudges. Label must be easily read by consumer. · Operates check weigher as required. · Places completed packages or trays onto conveyor for proper sealing with stretch film or shrink-wrap · Places finished cases or master bags/cartons onto pallet following proper pallet pattern and tier and tie · Loads raw produce into input hopper or onto conveyor for proper grading and sorting · Works efficiently following direction of line leader or supervisor · Cleans and Sanitizes line daily as required · Other duties as requested by leadership COMPETENCIES · Teamwork – Working collaboratively with a group of people, in order to achieve company goals. Reliable public or private transportation to and from work. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK ENVIORNMENT While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. · The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. · Environment is often in refrigerated zone PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds; primarily produce bags. POSTION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Full-Time, Monday to Friday. Hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm TRAVEL No travel is expected for this position. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. · Previous experience in a warehouse or assembly line atmosphere is preferred. · Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
