Position Summary:
The Oven Operator is responsible for the proper loading and unloading of product into the ovens and chillers from the production lines.
Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:
Process product using tools and equipment provided
Follows all work safety policies and guidelines
Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns
Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) product standards and guidelines
Maintains a clean and organized work area
Will be required to be able to move racks from line to oven or chiller to holding cooler
Performs other duties as assigned
Will be required to be CCP trained
Will be required to operate efficiently with OTIS
Will be required to do time calculations
Be required to load ovens correctly according to Process Control procedures
Accountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours
Will be required to clean ovens on periodic basis
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions
Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
Must pass a background check, drug screen
Must be able to read and write
Must be able to read a floor scale
Must be able to operate OTIS
Must be able to perform blast checks
Ability to multitask and visualize product issues such as air in product, air voids, defects
Ability to observe and correct issues with improper placement of the product on the rack
Troubleshoot problems with Ovens and chillers
Ability to probes in proper locations while loading product for cook process
Physical Requirements:
Standing (8 hours a day or more),
Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more)
Reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs)
Gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists
Bending and stooping for long periods of time.
Using material handling equipment as needed
Moving racks by hand when material handling equipment isn’t available
Working Conditions/Department Description:
Work in damp and cold environment
Work with loud and noisy machinery
Work in dusty environment when using spice
