This position will be at our Autonomous Design Center of Excellence located in San Diego, CA.Position Overview:The Global Hawk FMS program is looking for an experienced Principal Systems Test Engineer to join the Flight Test Team in the flight test planning, ground and flight, acceptance testing, and development test efforts for GH International High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) programs.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, support of all flight test activities, including test planning, pre and post test briefings, coordination of events, test card preparation, and data management for post-test analysis and requirement verification, and the planning and coordination for the delivery flights of Air Vehicles to our international customers.
Duties will include creating and maintaining flight and requirement metrics, briefing leadership on events and path forward, along with managing cost and schedule of flight test efforts.
Candidate shall display professionalism, leadership characteristics, a strong work effortethic, and must work well with others both in an internal team environment, and coordination externally across customer teams including the Combined Test Force (CTF) Lead Development Test Organization (LDTO) at Edwards Air Force Base,, USAF Program Office, and international teams as well.
Some travel may be required, to include detachments lasting several weeks at a time.Essential Functions:Develop and release Test Planning documentation, Test Cards, Test Flight Profiles, and all Readiness Review materialsCoordinate with other organizations, both internal, external, and international, to ensure safe and effective execution of ground and flight test activities.Interface with internal Responsible Engineer teams to design and develop test profile and data requirements for all ground and flight test operations.Identify and coordinate the availability of test facilities and test ranges with company, subcontractor, and government agencies.Execute ground, flight, and acceptance tests in accordance with established test plans and procedures.Participate in post-test data evaluation and problem identification and resolution activities.
Prepare and distribute test summaries and test reports.Collect test objective metrics, including flight events, requirement verification, and issue collection and resolutions.
Must be able to report on this data collection and prepare, and present these metrics to senior leadership.Lead and coordinate a cross customer Test Planning Working Group (TWPG).The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.NGLinkedASBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related engineering experience, or 3 years with a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline, or 0 years with a PhD in a STEM discipline.Current active in-scope US Government issued DoD Secret security clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SPA).Applicable Test Engineering experience, includes System Test Engineer in a lab environment, and/or flight test experience.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.Experience developing and releasing Test Plans.Experience working with the USAF Combined Test Force (CTF).Experience with developing ferry plans, including delivering aircraft to the end customer.Test experience of multiple disciplines, to include air vehicle, payload, and systems test in a lab, ground, or flight environment.Strong interpersonal and leadership skillsExcellent communication skills, including the ability to brief test results to executive leadership.Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
