Job Summary and Qualifications
Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program.
Our Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting.
The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship.
As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you’ll need to become the highest caliber nurse.
You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities.
During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training and exercises.
Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows.
At successful program completion, you will be a valued team member with specialty training, established relationships and familiarity with our values and culture.

Our StaRN program begins on January 31, 2022
Program Schedule:
First 6 weeks
Monday-Friday, typically 8:00 AM
– 5:00 PM with intermittent home study days.
Must be able to attend all days.
Preceptorship – 6 weeks

– 12 hours shifts, rotating shifts
This position requires a two year, full time commitment.
The first year is a commitment to the unit you are hired to at Alaska Regional Hospital.
The second year is eligible to transfer to another unit at Alaska Regional Hospital, or any of our other 185 HCA hospitals around the country.
