Job summary
AWS Professional Services Global Specialty Practice “Solution Builders” are responsible for solving customer problems through Direct and Indirect Consulting and by developing offerings, methodologies, tools and content.
These scale first through ProServe, then partners, and where applicable directly to customers for self-service.
They leverage ProServe’s customer experience, relationships, and active projects to prioritize solution investments and test assets with customers.
They also leverage Amazon’s working backwards and agile development mechanisms to build solutions, release them to market, and iterate to increase customer value.
ProServe’s Solution Builders work closely with Services teams, Marketplace, Solutions Architecture, BD, Sales, Training, and Support teams to drive the right solutions and impact broadly integrated into our customer’s experience.
The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to the Solutions Architecture team.
You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
Key job responsibilities
• Consistently deliver technical solutions that solve for new levels of complexity, scale and performance, and in turn, enabling breakthrough innovations.
Guides solution technical architecture and investments using AWS roadmaps; maximizes alignment and ease of adoption as new services and products become available.
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Ensure solutions are developed and packaged in an easily consumable and repeatable way for customers and internal teams including sales, solutions architecture, and support
• Capture and share best practice knowledge with the AWS solutions architect community
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, solutions marketing, reference architectures, and reference implementations
A day in the life
Your responsibilities include engaging with our users and to identify requirements, defining product features, developing solutions and in some cases working closely with the development teams to get those features deployed.
You should be somebody who is customer-centric, and enjoys working with engineers to solve deep technical problems and build innovative solutions.
You will also need to learn about capabilities from internal teams, evaluate the key business metrics, and be able to communicate effectively to all levels of the company, both in writing and in meetings.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or 10+ years of relevant professional or military experience
• 7+ years of hands-on technical expertise in technology automation, implementation, integration, and/or deployment
• 4+ years of experience contributing to the development or management of a product in a technology focused business
• Demonstrated Experience in utilizing Cloud Computing technologies and migration challenges
• Implementation experience of migration methodologies, tools and processes
• Experience migrating or transforming mission critical workloads to the public cloud
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters degree in business or related technical fields.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architecture (Associate or Professional), or other specialty
• Professional experience architecting/deploying/operating solutions built on AWS
• Experience with migrating applications from on-premises to the AWS Cloud with migration techniques such as re-host, refactor, re-architect, re-platform, repurchase, etc.
• Experience leading data center or cloud migration projects
• Demonstrated experience in defining and launching products/services as a result of a software development lifecycle.
• Ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope business requirements
• Experience turning ambiguous ideas into products and delivering novel services
• Experience implementing quality Products with spirit of continuous improvements
