ECS is seeking a Mid-Level Linux Administrator to work in our Washington DC office.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with experience providing Linux Tier 3 administration and engineering, along with software integration.

A team person with technical depth and strong interpersonal skills who is passionate, highly motivated technologist with vision and an entrepreneurial spirit.

As the Linux Systems Engineer, your day is filled with providing information technology support and administration for Linux based environments hosted in the datacenter and the AWS Cloud.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience working with all aspects of both Linux and Windows systems, along with network administration, including but not limited to provisioning, installation/configuring, operation, and maintenance of both the systems and application stacks in a Linux and Windows environment.

The Linux Engineer will have a strong working knowledge creating automation workflow that provides life-cycle management of AWS VPCs from AMI generation, STIG compliance and functional validation between release versions, including all VPC and EC2 management.

Capable of deploying SAML based SSO services backed against AD with Linux integration.

Additionally, you will need knowledge and experience with Veritas NetBackup version 8.x and above along with 5240 and 3340 appliances.

Experience including but not limited to conducting backup and restore procedures, troubleshooting and resolving errors stemming from a failed backup, and capability to update OS and firmware when required.

This position works closely with other on the Data Center, Applications, and Security teams and as such, requires excellent communications and writing skills.

Required Skills:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in relevant field Must have at least ONE of the following Linux Certifications: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE) Five years, minimum, of direct, hands-on experience in installation, checkout, and maintenance of Linux and Windows systems Five years, minimum, of demonstrated hands-on experience and knowledge of Linux platform (i.e.

RedHat, Oracle, Ubuntu, and CentOS) including administration, management, and troubleshooting.

Experience in managing servers in Hypervisor environments.

Experience in Ansible runbook creation for STIG based systems.

Cloud Experience: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Puppet, Kickstart Database: Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Scripting: JavaScript, Angular JS, HTML, CSS, PowerShell, PowerBI.

Hands on experience with NetApp SAN; and Symantec NetBackup for installation, troubleshooting, and resolving backup errors experience.

Experience with ServiceNow or ServiceNow applications (Remedy, HEAT, HPSM, etc.) SolarWinds, or EM7/SL1 experience (User or Integrator)

Four to Eight years’ experience in manager servers in a Virtualization/ Hypervisor environment utilizing VMWare, Hyper-V, ESXi, and Nutanix.

Hands-on experience in Hardening and Patching Nutanix, ESXi, and VCenter in an enterprise environment.

Hands-on experience with Disaster Recovery Replication and CIFS Shares migration.
