Med Technologist Facility: Good Samaritan Hosp Med Ctr Location: West Islip, NY Department: Lab Blood Bank Category: Allied Health / Clinical Professional Schedule: Per Diem Shift: Night shift Hours: Varied ReqNum: 6035647 Medical Technologist – Blood Bank Responsible for performing a variety of clinical tests; perform various biochemical, microscopic, blood?bank and/or bacteriological tests to obtain data for use in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school required. Certification by internship and examination from the A.S.C.P. as a registered Medical Technologist desired. Licensed under the NYS Dept of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required. Knowledge of blood bank required. Hospital experience desired. Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled. One year internship at an accredited hospital or one year practical experience required. Good oral and written communication skills essential.
