Responsible for the efficient operation of the Material Acquisition department, including purchasing, operation of the self-help store, warehousing and receiving, “special level”, and hurricane storage of materials and residue. Responsible for a variety of procurement duties requiring an understanding of both corporate and government procurement procedures, Civil Engineer Material Acquisition System (CEMAS) and the requirements of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Performs duties associated with pre-award and post-award contracting functions with the responsibility for overall coordination and interpretation of the contract. • Supervises purchasing, warehouse and self-help employees. • Oversees the coordination with crafts persons in the identification of correct materials, parts, and assemblies to be purchased. • Serves as the accountable supply officer responsible for providing material requirements for the BOS contract at Tyndall AFB. • Supervises the purchase and receipt of material, parts, and assemblies in accordance with requisition for all types of work documents, warehouse stock re-order, and other pertinent requests. • Coordinates with department supervisors on overdue materials and tracks the material(s) to expedite receipt or to establish a revised delivery date, to include updating all applicable reports. • Originates necessary documents and forms and queries various computer work systems to extract information concerning projects, materials, or services. Manages logistics-related audit reports. • Supervises the warehousing of all material and monitors storage related facilities, to include proper handling and storage and the issue of hazardous and flammable material. • Ensures completion of annual inventories for store stock, self-help store, special levels, residue, and hurricane storage. • Valid state driver’s license. • High School graduate or equivalent with prior government purchasing experience. • Knowledge of government procurement procedures and Federal Acquisition Regulations. • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English to an eighth grade level for a working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings, as per contract requirement. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate ideas effectively with personnel at all levels. • Ability to work harmoniously with others. • Ability to be discreet in handling confidential information.
