Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Lays out work, sets up and operates machine tools for repair and fabrication of parts, jigs or machine attachments.
Typical Duties
Receives instructions, interprets drawings and sketches and plans work.

Performs layout work and makes sketches of parts as required.

Calculates and determines dimensions, tapers, indices, etc., using shop formulas and handbooks as necessary.

Selects and grinds tools for work to be performed in accordance with hardness, machinability and other properties of parts to be machined.

Obtains or makes jigs, fixtures or machine attachments for the work to be performed.

Obtains raw materials from stock and returns rebuilt assemblies to stock as required.

Sets up and operates all machines common to the trade, adjusting stops, feeds and speeds for efficient machining, and grease/oils equipment.

Machines parts to precision tolerances and specified finishes; using precision measuring instruments.

Personnel will be trained yearly for the proper handling and disposal of the following hazardous wastes as it relates to their job description.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of heat treating in small batches 5 years previous experience machining parts Bridgeport hybrid manual/ 3 axis ez track milling machine
