As the business progressed, Metro East Industries has continuously upgraded its facilities. Occupying 100 acres in East Saint Louis/Alorton, Illinois, this industry leader has consistently added to and upgraded its two railcar repair shops, its two blasting, painting and lining shops, its locomotive shop, locomotive paint shop and scrapping/reclamation area, along with railcar and locomotive storage yards. Our facility footprint now encompasses over 500,000 square feet of floor space and 30 miles of internal track footage.
