Lockheed Martin values your skills, training, education and background.The Instrumentation Engineering organization is looking to grow the groups calibration capabilities and expand on our existing knowledge base.
The candidate will join a dynamic group which works on development programs involving new rotorcraft technologies.
The candidate will apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document, and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for electrical, dimensional, optical, mechanical, measurement, and test equipment based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements.
Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures.
Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes.
Maintain calibration standards and maintain calibration laboratory and /or quality systems.
In addition, the candidate can expect to work with the Test Engineering Department and/or other customers providing measurement data for use in development programs.
Select instrumentation sensors for use and appropriate data systems giving consideration to measurement type, range, frequency, accuracy and sensitivity.
Provide technician instructions and support the preparation, installation, check-out and operation of the selected instrumentation sensors and data systems.
Knowledge of strain gage techniques and calibrations is desired with an understanding of how strain gages are wired to achieve specific load sensitivity such as axial, bending, torsion, etc.
Duties include overseeing, documenting, and reviewing data for approval of strain gaged components.
Sensor calibration types include pressure, force, temperature, acceleration, position, etc.

degree with a major in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or similarly related engineering degree.
It is preferable if the candidate has some background and/or knowledge of calibration techniques, calibration standards, test instrumentation, electronic principles, data acquisition technologies, and sensor technologies.Desired Skills:This position is starting to grow into using Digital Image Correlation Technology and knowing the basic principles and knowledge of systems manufactured by the company Trilion is a plus.
