WHAT YOU’LL DO: Job Description Summary The Legal Invoice Associate is responsible for processing Legal invoices and supporting various external disbursement and Outside Counsel Management activities.
This role requires a collaborative team player, who is familiar with Legal invoicing and ebilling, and who can effectively communicate and interact with colleagues across all levels of the Legal Division, including senior Legal leadership.
Primary Responsibilities Proactively reviews invoices for accuracy and compliance with Abbott’s billing guidelines Adheres to defined Legal invoice review and approval processes and maintains tracking documentation for all invoice related processes Regularly reviews invoicing processes for possible improvement opportunities, proposes process improvements, and takes lead on execution Takes initiative to identify and escalate issues, as appropriate, and collaborates with team members to develop issue resolution processes Provides timely and accurate support to Abbott’s Outside Counsel partners regarding billing inquiries Assists in-house Legal staff with reviewing/approving invoices and other billing inquiries Completes accurate and timely vendor set-up Works closely with Legal Finance and Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing Collaborates with Outside Counsel Management Team to support ad hoc initiatives Handles general reconciliation projects, including rejected invoice reconciliation, and contributes to year-end accrual activities EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING Additional Job Requirements/Qualifications: High degree of professionalism and ability to discreetly handle confidential information Ability to work under minimal supervision on day-to-day activities and under general guidance for ad hoc tasks Consistent and strong attention to detail, good judgement, solid time management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Working knowledge of Legal ebilling systems/software preferred MDG, SAP, Symphony experience preferred WHAT WE OFFER At Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
