The Legal Intern is responsible for analyzing and researching law sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles and codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, memoranda, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Negotiate consulting services contracts, teaming agreements, nondisclosure agreements, subcontracts, and staffing agreements
• Meet with the client to discuss potential problems or further details needed for contract negotiations and/or projects
• Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors and business partners to discuss implementation requirements
• Prepare executive level presentations on contractual risk for the CEO and CFO
• Review and analyze RFPs and contracts
• Work closely with Deputy General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel on special projects
• Perform legal research
• Draft contractual memoranda and letters
• Translate business requirements into system requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and has completed three years of college.
Or, is pursuing a law degree at an accredited law school.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline oriented work environment.
• Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously and attention to detail.
• Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
• Competence in the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) plus database and reporting software knowledge required.
• Skilled in building business and technical vision; disciplined strategic thinking; analytical presentation and problem solving skills; the ability to gain internal support; and the ability to establish and maintain a solid working relationship with technical staff, managers, and peers.
