Highly regarded boutique law firm is seeking an experienced Billing Coordinator to join their New York office.
The position will work closely with clients as well as attorneys in preparation of client billing.
60% billing and 40% collections.
Review time entries to ensure proper matter coding, billing rates, compliance with client guidelines.
Edit, transfer, write‐off time/costs as directed.
Close and balance bill batches and logs.
Execute complex bills in a timely manner (i.e., multiple discounts by matter, split‐party billing, preparation of electronic bills).
Ability to handle a high volume of bills per month.
Handle billing inquiries, client accruals, and account analysis.
Experience with various E‐billing systems and vendor requirements.
Daily review and tracking of aged accounts receivables.
Work with billing attorneys in the management of their accounts receivable; keeping them informed of potential collection issues.
Analyze and reconcile account history.
Research and respond to inquiries regarding collections.
Monitor various e‐billing websites to track the approval process, as well as the expected payment dates.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Manage firm cash and trust receipts, journal balancing, billing as well as handling cash flow reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of billing/collection experience in a law firm.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; be able to communicate clearly and concisely with senior management, partners, and clients.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong initiative and critical thinking skills; with the ability to plan and complete daily activities with minimal direction.
Ability to maintain relationships with clients and effectively address concerns.
Ability to organize, prioritize and multi‐task work activities to meet deadlines in a sometimes high pressure environment.
Must have the ability to adapt to cyclical periods, peak workloads, new assignments and work independently to meet deadlines.
Comfortable as the “go to” person for billing and collections.
Must have flexibility to work overtime as required.
Pay: $68,000.00 per year
